DIVING PADI COURSE & DISCOVERY DIVE
Since 2019 Karimunjawa has had its own PADI registered dive center which enables you to come to Karimunjawa and follow the PADI diving course. Karimunjawa currently does not have any swimming facilities to follow the course, however, the shallow waters around the island are ideal for following this course. Experience the same quality and safety as you would experience in a swimming pool while surrounded by the breathtaking nature of Karimunjawa.
In addition to following a diving course, it is also possible to make a Discovery/Fun dive. On this tour, you’ll go out on a limb to see if you’re into diving without the direct commitment of an entire course. So do you want to try it out first or does a full diving course not fit into your schedule right now? Then the Discovery/Fun dive is perfect for you. The day looks pretty much the same as a regular dive tour, but the deep waters will be replaced by places in the water where you can stand up to a max of 10 meters deep while learning the basic information and skills.
DIVING TOUR KARIMUNJAWA
A standard diving trip exists out of two dives, location depending on your experients, a visit to one of the islands to escape from the midday heat and enjoy a beautiful fish barbecue, and a second stop to another island, beach, or a mesmerizing place like a sandbank. If you want to add an extra dive this is also possible, one dive from around 45 minutes (depending on your oxygen usages). This type of tour requires you to have a PADI registered diving license which will be checked before departure.
The price per person depends on the group size, we advise a minimum of 2 people because the costs for a private trip alone are generally (for many travelers) too expensive. However, it is possible to book the trip by yourself and to go out on the water alone. An alternative is that we try to match you with another traveler who likes to go diving or that you bring someone on the water who likes to go snorkeling while you are exploring the deep waters. Many spots are perfect for both snorkeling and diving and the captain of the boat can accompany your friend while the guide follows you to the deeper waters.

What you shouldn’t forget to bring? A towel, dry clothes, a T-shirt to swim in, snacks, reusable water bottle, sunscreen and maybe a tip for your guide. To be considerate of the citizens of Karimunjawa we urge you to wear clothes that cover your body before and after the tour. Please don’t walk through the village in only swimwear. Besides that, we encourage our guest to wear a shirt while snorkeling over the reef, not only to protect your own skin, but also to reduce the amount of sunscreen in the water as this is proven to be extremely harmful for the reef.
