Back in Holland many people mentioned how much they enjoyed my frequent updates from the island and ask when I would start sending them out again. I was never planning on stop sending the updates out but last year was simply crazy. I am saying ‘’last year’’ while just now realising 2020 is over. Since the pandemic stopped the whole world from running, life on the island obviously has also changed. We are lucky enough that our daily life isn’t affected that much, and we still have the freedom to go outside, meet our friends and enjoy the other aspects of our beautiful life. However, things on the business side definitely have changed.
In 2019 we opened our business Basa-basi in the middle of the summer and we couldn’t have been happier with the way our efforts were received by our guests. After the rain season we were ready to continue our journey until the island lockdown. Since then, we have been busy starting one project after another so we can keep on supporting our team during these difficult times. However, we haven’t been able to get back on our feed like before the lockdown and that is probably why the updates stopped. As I some how was waiting to share a new update with you until everything was taking care of. Until I realised that part of creating a new normal is accepting that situations have changed, and we have to build a new one. So that is what we are going to do and are very much excited about.
Can’t wait to share more, but for now a small threat: two updates. Therefore, continue reading about our journey back to our home on the island and how we have been settling in thus far.
